Tantalus, Bear Chardonnay, 2023, Canada (s) (r)

The simplest way to describe a Tantalus wine is ripe full fruits with a great balance of freshness. You will have rarely tasted a chardonnay this bold and with such an outstanding finish. A racy, fresh profile led by lemon pith, fresh sea breeze, and Granny Smith apple, closely followed by lighter traces of orange zest and white rose. The palate is layered and bright, showing notes of fresh peach, marzipan, and lemon cream.
It features a distinct mineral salinity and a slightly chalky yet rounded texture.
Vinification uses ambient (wild) yeast fermentation and partial malolactic fermentation. Aged for 10 months on lees in old barriques and puncheons.
