Petit Chablis 2018, Gilles et Nathalie Fevre, France
Regular price
£18.95
The 2021 is now finished - a much smaller harvest.
So we've gone back in time - the 2018 vintage at 2018 price. When it's gone, it's gone.
How does an older vintage taste? Really rather good... It's fattened out a bit, so feels less steely and more rounded.
Now in the hands of the fourth generation (which is why a bit confusingly it says Marcel et Blanche on the front label) this is a Petit Chablis (from less hallowed vineyards) that is as good as many other village-level Chablis. Steely and citrussy, throwing some gentle curves. Nathalie makes the wine, Gilles is in charge of the vineyards.
