Rosso di Montalcino 2019, Cortonesi, Italy

A pure, seductive Sangiovese - with some plump fruit and supple texture.
You could call it the baby sibling of Cortonesi's Brunello La Manella from the same vineyard (which is around the winery), from younger vines (planted in 2011).
It's delicious poured straight into glasses and is good with salumi, harder cheeses, pork, gamey fowl and - as Paola recently discovered - with Monkfish in a a robust sauce, on pumpkin purée. Properly autumnal.
