Kotsifali Red Queen 2021, Lyrarakis, Crete

Regular price £14.95 £0.00 Unit price per

A soft, easy-drinking red that will transport you mentally to a taverna in Crete.

Kotsifali is the grape, which is mainly grown on Crete, but you may find on other islands in the Cyclades.  Lyrarakis specialise in getting the best out of local grapes. Winemaker Myriam Ambuzer aims to coax the best out of each indigenous grape rather than make it to fit a specific taste profile. But if you do want a comparison, it’s a little like a Merlot you might find in France. It is worth letting this unfurl for ten minutes or so in a carafe or your glass. It doesn’t need food but is, unsurprisingly, really good with lamb and aubergine dishes.
