The Judgement of Acton: Take Two
Tuesday 24th May @ 7.30pm
The Lounge @ ActOne Cinema
Can you tell the difference between wines from the old world versus those from the new world?
Join us for a second night where we recreate the infamous 1976 tasting, when a bunch of top French wine experts gathered in Paris to blind taste white Burgundies and red Bourdeaux alongside Chardonnays and Cabernets from Napa.
Now known as the Judgement of Paris, it caused shockwaves in the wine world when many of the Californian wines trounced the French ones.
Our February tasting sold out in just 24 hours and both people who came and those who missed out on tickets asked us to do it again.
We’ll be serving six new, premium wines blind (including a welcome glass on arrival) - and you have to guess if they’re from Europe or Australia, South Africa, New Zealand or the Americas.
No prior knowledge of wine is needed. The main aim is to pour you delicious wines and you have fun guessing what they are before the big reveal.
There’ll be some cheese to snack on, plus 10% off all the wines shown if you pay for the bottles on the night.
We’ll also be giving £5 from every ticket towards a vital second screen for the ActOne cinema.
