Chianti Classico MB 1933 2019 , Bernardi, Italy
The first vintage of a new wine from Monte Bernardi, vineyards are situated in the hilly, southernmost region of Panzano, an area long acknowledged as one of the Grand Crus of Chianti Classico. The grapes come from a single hectare vineyard planted in 1933 - and bought by the winery a few years ago. It’s a field blend. After fermentation, there is a long maceration on the skins, in cement. The wine then spends 16 months in large oak casks. On allocation only.
