Coste Chardonnay 2019, France
Olivier Coste makes our best-selling rosé and his unoaked Chardonnay should win many fans too, once they’ve got over the shock that this is hugely enjoyable despite the grape…
It is made from grapes coming from several vineyards around Béziers in the Languedoc, which are farmed as sustainably as possible (machine weeding rather than weedkillers, pheromones instead of pesticides - you get the idea).
With Burgundy becoming increasingly expensive, this satisfies the itch for a Mâcon (which is Chardonnay FYI) while saving yourself enough money for some creamy cheese. Which would be splendid with this wine.
Olivier recommends serving it with good friends!
