Saint-Amour 'A La Folie' Beaujolais 2020, Domaine Chardigny, France

The most romantic of the Beaujolais Crus...but also one of the smallest, and the most northerly, butting onto the Maconnais. Three young brothers, Pierre-Maxime, Jean-Baptiste and Jean-Michel, run this small family domaine of six hectares which they are in the process of transforming. J

Jean-Baptiste is also vineyard manager for the Joseph Leflaive estate in the Maconnais. They also sell grapes to Jean-Louis Dutraive and Jean-François Ganevat. Minimum use of sulphur, organic grapes and the result is a rich, fruit-driven, and silky Saint Amour, that's not just for Valentine's Day.
