Rioja Reserva 'Seleccion de la Familia' 2015, Luis Canas, Spain

Luxuriate in this Tempranillo-led blend from some of the best sites in Luis Cañas' Rioja Alavesa vineyards. The average age of the vines is 45 years old, from the least fertile soils (you want this to get the best out of the vines) and with the best position to the sun. The wine spends 20 months in new French and American barrels. We think that currently (in 2020), it is even better with 30 minutes or so in a decanter. Rich and soothing, it'll be super with a roast rib of beef.
