Master of None 2021, Blank Bottle, South Africa
Another banger from Pieter Walser, the greatest winemaking storyteller around.
This is a blend not just of red grapes - Grenache, Cinsault, Pinot Noir and Pinotage - but 16% of white grapes, too. Sounds odd? This is how wines used to be made in many places, when you picked and blended what grew in the same vineyard.
This will appeal to lovers of light summer reds, and - like a fruity Beaujolais - it can be lightly chilled.
