Experienca Parellada 2021, Succes Vinicola, Spain

Parellada is one of the main grapes in Catalan Cava. But here, it has made such a delicious still wine. The grapes come from 40-60 year-old bush trained vines grown in calcareous clay.  

Parellada is a late ripening variety that likes high altitudes (it only thrives above 400 meters).  The grapes in this wine were picked over two weeks- added to a tank once picked - so some grapes have been in contact with their skins for 14 days. Citrussy and salty with a nice texture.
