Meet The Burgundy Winemaker: Sophie Cinier - Tuesday 17th October at 7pm

We are thrilled that Pouilly-Fuissé producer Sophie Cinier is coming to Vindinista to lead a tasting of her beautiful Chardonnays from the Mâconnais - Burgundy's southernmost wine region. 

Sophie is a relative newcomer on the Burgundy wine scene, producing her first wines in 2000 (though there has been winemaking in her family for several generations). She recently increased her tiny holding to 4.5 hectares.

Unlike large parts of the Mâconnais where machine harvesting is the norm, Sophie’s vineyard work is entirely manual, and she does not own a tractor, apart from the old one, rusting in her yard. But these extra vines need more hands in the vineyards, so her partner, Alain, now works with her. In 2021, she realised her vision to farm all her vineyards organically.

Sophie produces small quantities of wines that are known for their purity of fruit, freshness and elegance. Although her focus is white wine, she does make a Pinot Noir, and this will be included on the night.

The tasting will start with a welcome glass of one of Sophie's wines before we taste through five others. We'll provide some paired snacks - and offer 10% off any of Sophie's wines if paid for on the night.
