'Crossbarn' Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, Paul Hobbs, USA
Classic Sonoma Cab and with a classic Napa price tag, too. But if it's Cali Cab you are craving, then this is the real deal. Dense and powerful with supple tannins (but we'd still recommend a solid decant if you are drinking now to get the best experience).
Paul Hobbs was one of the first winemakers at hallowed Opus One and is probably responsible for the world's love or Argentinian Malbec. He's also nuts about sustainable farming and this wine, from grapes grown across the Napa Valley AVA, is fermented using native yeasts (ie none added to help fermentation and manipulate flavours). It is also unfined.
