Brunello di Montalcino 'La Manella' 2017, Cortonesi, Italy

Rich cassis notes, with that intense balsamic aspect that Sangiovese grown near Montalcino in Tuscany seems to adopt - plus some leather and tobacco hints. A gorgeous, modern and very polished Brunello for utter indulgence. Decanting is up to you. Tommaso Cortonesi made it clear it wasn't necessary when we organised a wine dinner with him back in 2019. You can drink it now - but you could cellar it for up to 10 more years.

Tommaso's grandfather bought La Manella vineyard in the 1970s - it surrounds their winery which you can see on the label.
